FAQs

  • BSides is a series of community-driven infosec conferences which run globally. This will be the first one to be ran in Basingstoke! We hold an annual ticketed conference and have quarterly mini-meets, which are a lot more casual and more importantly free!

  • Because Basingstoke is #Amazingstoke.

  • Smaller more informal meetups at the Dice Tower where we have one or two talks. It is a great environment to practice public speaking, brag about cool projects and to learn new things. There is no prerequisite for technical knowledge for attendees or talks - as long as its vaguely connected to infosec feel free to talk about anything you want.

  • They are held every 3 months, for the latest updates please check out our mini-meets tab or sign-up to our mailing list

  • Our mini-meets are free to attend, no ticket required. The conference requires a paid ticket but for that you get great swag, lunch and drinks! To make sure you don't miss ticket drops check out our social medias or sign-up to our mailing list.

  • Conference talks are recorded and uploaded to YouTube, but the internet isn’t good enough for a live stream unfortunately. For similar logistical reasons we also require speakers to be in-person (you get a free ticket though!)

  • No :(
If you want to organise one please reach out to BSidesBasingstoke@gmail.com

  • Please do! We’re in need of volunteers for the conference and to help out with getting things organised. Either drop us a message on Twitter, or email us at BSidesBasingstoke@gmail.com

  • At the conference bag lunches will be provided- please indicate any dietary requirements when purchasing your ticket. Food can also be purchased from the cafe bar, or there’s a bunch of shops in the area (including a McDonalds).

  • Because they're super cute - yes we know the logo is a goose, don't ask.
